12:30pm - Jenny's water breaks while at home. Jenny goes to Doctors office
2:30pm - Doctor tells Jenny to get to the hospital, despite not having contractions
2:45pm - Jenny calls Scott and gets him out of really exciting meeting at work
3:15pm - Arrive at Methodist Hospital
3:30pm - Go up to maternity ward with another couple who is labor.
3:35pm - Other woman gives birth! Wow! At this rate we'll be done by 5pm!
4:00pm - Because Jen's water broke, they want her to stay at the hospital.
6:00pm - Still, no contractions. The Doctor started Jenny on an IV drip to induce labor
7:30pm - Contractions are sort of going, but not real strong.
8:30pm - Whoa, now things are happening! Out loud, Jenny says to herself "just relax." On good advice, I decide not to say a peep.
9:00pm - Jenny throws up, spraying all over me. Diapers will now seem easy!
10:00pm - Contractions are regular and quite uncomfortable. Dr. says Jenny is dilated only 1 cm (out of a possible 10 for you non-baby people.)

1:00am - Contractions are still regular and uncomfortable. Still only dilated 1cm.
1:30am - Dr. orders Nubane to help "take the edge off." I try unsuccessfully to get Valium, am offered a lollypop instead.
2:15am - Thanks to Nubane, Jenny is now resting a little more comfortably while I watch the frequency and intensity of the contractions increase on the monitor.
3:30am - I go for a walk and like an idiot get locked out of the hospital! The only way in is through the ER entrance. The ER desk won't let me in without ID. ID is in the room. Security brings me up and has a nurse vouch for me.
5:15am - Like the Energizer Bunny, these contractions just keep going and going and going! The Nubane has worn off, they aren't going to give a second dose. Dilated to 4cm now, not quite half way.
5:30am - Jenny gets an epidural to relieve the intense pain from the contractions.
5:50am - Despite the ongoing contractions, 5 bags of "stuff" dripping into various IV lines, and nurses poking her, she is in a much needed deep sleep.
7:30am - Inspection reveals that she is dilated to 6cm, but baby is at a slight angle. Nurses help her into several yoga like positions to get the baby into a more desirable position.
10:50am - Let the pushing begin!
11:47am: - Baby is born! 8lbs, 14oz (see scale photo below)
